Awake Israel Ministry was founded in 1999 as a growing number of Israelis came to faith in Messiah. From this ministry, the Avney Nezer (Jewels of the Crown - Diadem) fellowship was birthed. With an excellent worship team and mostly young, Israeli men attending, it has flourished. Pastor Shlomy Abramov is a fifth-generation Israeli. A tsabar or tsabra, meaning one born in Israel, attracts other native-borns and we are able to reach many with the hope of Messiah. A discipleship school in Hebrew is helping them mature in their faith.
Our Messianic Christian humanitarian aid centre is assisting, amongst others, single mothers, holocaust survivors and the elderly. We provide diapers, clothes and food to those in need. We assist soldiers and army bases, local hospitals, schools and others on a regular basis.
God led us to begin an exciting outreach project. We regularly sponsor a day trip in Hebrew where the gospel message is clearly explained and offered. We provide materials to further the seed planted and a contact number for more involvement. This has produced wonderful results and we have a small community who want more trips. Our vision is to reach all Israel this way.
The gospel is also going out by means of Shlomy’s book in Hebrew. This explains how God got hold of a true Israelite heart in the 1990s through the witness of his wife, Miriam. Shlomy had a supernatural experience with God and gave his life to Yeshua. Together we have reached thousands. We were the first pioneering team trained by Jews for Jesus, Israel, and helped this ministry develop strategies to reach Israelis with the gospel.
We left nine years ago to begin Awake Israel, as we wanted to expand to include more ways to reach Israelis, such as the weekly fellowship meetings and the discipleship centre.
We enjoy favour and blessings from the local community and interact with other overseas ministries. Our home is open to Christians from every nation and serves as a small assistance and training centre (Jewish missions) while others travel the land. Awake Israel has organised conferences here for the Chinese, including the logistics such as buses, hotels etc. The Chinese responded that it was the best trip they ever had in Israel. All praise to God!
Shlomy and Miriam travel to many countries sharing Israel updates and teaching about the biblical Feasts with Gentile churches. In this way Israel is lifted up in the eyes of the nations and kept in their prayers. We believe we are preparing for the return of Jesus Christ and the nations should be informed and kept current regarding the coming days for Israel which will affect the whole world. awakeisrael [ at ] gmail.com
